New Year’s Resolutions 2014

I know I might be a few days late in posting about my new year’s resolutions but the start of the year has been so busy. Don’t worry, I’ve been thinking about them and actually put together a list on my phone…just haven’t posted them yet.

So just like everyone, every year the resolutions we make are always the same:

Get into shape/work out

Lose weight

Eat healthy/be healthier

etc. etc. etc.

Yes, I want to do those things to…I mean who doesn’t want to be in shape, lose weight and be healthy? So just like every year I’m going to try and do those things. However, there are also some other things that I definitely plan to work on/do for 2014 and have made it on my New Year’s Resolution list. Here it is. Official now.

1. LET GO

Especially of those things that I cannot control. I’m working on this but I want to make an even stronger effort for this year. Love this article I found on MindBodyGreen. I really want to work on becoming more grounded and happy. Of course that starts with LETTING GO (especially of worry and stress) something that I really, really need to do. If you know me, you know that I tend to do both of those things…A LOT.

2. Read more (goal is 24 books this year)

3. Keep a gratitude journal (daily)

4. Drink more water (and keep track of it)

5. Volunteer with the Girls Scouts

So there you go. That’s my 2014 resolution list. I’m ready to embrace and take on all that 2014 has in store for me! Let’s Go!

Wishing you all lots of LOVE, HEALTH & HAPPINESS for 2014!

NYE…Casino Royal Style

What better way to ring in the new year than with a James Bond themed party at Fort Mason General’s Residence?! This was seriously an AWESOME location for a New Year’s party! My college friends boyfriends friends put on these awesome themed NYE parties every year and this year just happened to included high end martinis, a whiskey bar, champagne, great friends/music, and lots of Bond!!

ImageWe loved dressing up for the theme and really getting into it! Clearly I also have a very fashionable hubby because he owns a tux and bow tie! Looking pretty sharp if I do say so myself! ❤

My bestie since 8th grade (Ashley) and one of my favorite roomies/good friend from UCSB (Eva) also joined us for the party. And let me tell you these ladies know how to paaaaaartaaaaaay!Image

One of our favorite couples Dan and Jess ubered from Oakland to join in the festivities as well. I mean what’s a party without some fabulous people? Chris and Jess went to PA school together and have been great friends since! I feel like this picture really captures our personalities and friendship hehe. Image

We had absolutely a FABULOUS time drinking martinis and champagne, taking ridiculously funny/amazing pictures and dancing in the new year! ImageCan’t wait to see where the party will be next year, and yes I am already looking forward to it! Hoping everyone had a very Happy New Year!

Christmas Post…a little late

Before I post about New Years I still need to post about Christmas…so here we go!

MERRY CHRISTMAS!! Sorry for the delay, but with the holidays and traveling, time just seemed to go by too quickly! We spent Christmas Eve with my family and had a really nice dinner. We also went to Eucalyptus Street to look at lights…another holiday tradition. It felt so wonderful to finally relax, spend time with family, and enjoy the holidays! ImageHere we are with my families tree. I just love the glow of the tree lights! Mom wanted to go for a “different” look this year so she used LED lights which gave the tree a little different of a look…I think she’s going to go back to her traditional lights next year hehe. It still looked beautiful though!ImageGood looking picture with my family! Mom, me, sister Ari and Dad

Christmas morning there were quit a few presents under our little tree…we opened our gifts and enjoyed a cup of coffee before heading back over to the parents for Christmas Day celebrations!Image

Our traditional Christmas family breakfast includes Belgium waffles, bacon (YUM), fruit salad, and mimosas of course! After breakfast we exchanged our Secret Santa gifts, opened a few other presents/stocking stuffers (even though Mom said there wouldn’t be any presents) and just enjoyed time together. Later my Uncle Mitch came to join us for Christmas dinner. He brought his giant schnauzer Freya with him so we had a house full of 4 schnauzers! Luckily they all get along so it’s always fun! I got this lovely scarf from my sister’s boyfriend Brian and the hubby just looks great in is Christmas Tree Hat.ImageOn the 26th we headed down to SoCal to visit with Chris mom. We did our own Christmas that evening and went to an awesome dinner at the Rusty Pelican. The food was delicious and it was fun to sit by the water! During our visit we also went to San Diego to meet our TWIN nieces!!! They are beyond precious and were very well behaved (not much crying for fussing). This is by far my FAVORITE picture from the trip! Image

Hope everyone had a wonderful holiday spent with loved ones…I know I sure did! Stay tuned for my New Years post.
