Last weekend the hubby and I went down to Huntington Beach to visit his mom and to celebrate some birthdays! Chris’ bday was yesterday 4/2 and his mom’s bday is today 4/4. We celebrated in an extra special way this year by going to both CA Adventure and Disneyland!!!
BEST.BIRTHDAYS.EVER. My mother-in-law, Sherry was so excited to go! She hadn’t been to the park since before CA Adventure was even built! At that time it was just a parking lot. She was a trooper and really had a great time! Chris and I LOVE LOVE Disney so we were beyond excited for a full day of fun and Disney magic! We actually had season passes when we both lived down there. Man do we miss those passes! When we had them, we made sure to take full advantage of them. We went all the time! The best part was that we didn’t have to do a whole day, just show up, go on a few rides and we were good. Maybe someday we’ll get passes again.
We started the day in CA Adventure and immediately walked through Cars Land and headed over to Radiator Springs Racers (the Cars ride). We got smart and decided to not stand in the 2 hour+ line and do the single-rider line. Although we didn’t get to sit in the same car we only had to wait about 50 mins. to get on the ride. OMG it was AWESOME! The entire Cars Land was unbelievable! It literally felt like we were in the movie. Disney doesn’t miss a single detail. Here are some great pictures from our time there. Seriously so fun! After Cars we did the Toy Story Midway Mania ride (always a blast) and then Soarin’ over California. Next we went over to Disneyland. I really love Disneyland and have so many fun memories from being there as a kid (including my 8th birthday) and of course going with friends and the hubby. It’s such a magical place and can be enjoyed by people of all ages. I always love seeing little kids who are experiencing the magic for the first time! Awww…can’t wait until we have kids and get to experience Disneyland with them! The park was busy, but thankfully not as busy or hot as it usually is during the summer. We did some of the classic rides: Pirates of the Caribbean (one of our absolute favorites), Haunted Mansion, Jungle Cruise, Astro Blasters, Mr. Toad’s Wild Ride, Autopia, and of course Big Thunder Mountain Railroad. Big Thunder is by far my FAVORITE ride! Because “this here’s the wildest ride in the wilderness!” True story. I didn’t realize that it was closed for awhile and that they were making a few changes. Thank goodness it was open and I loved the additions they made! Seriously one of the best rides ever. LOVE it! We really had a fantastic day celebrating and I’m so glad we made a whole day out of it and got to go to both parks! A big THANK YOU to Sherry’s neighbor Amy who works for Disney and was able to get us some comp passes and discounted tickets. Also, HAPPY BIRTHDAY to CHRIS and SHERRY! It really is the Happiest Place on Earth! ❤
