HAPPY HAPPY BIRTHDAY EMMA!!

LOOK at that sweet, sweet face. Words can’t even describe how much I love this pup. Emma is such a wonderful dog and I can’t imagine life without her! We love her sometimes sassy personality and her extreme loyalty. At the end of the day she loves a good snuggle (on her terms), trips to the beach and treats always and often!

Here is some of the very best pics of our sweet pup!

We are the proud owners of TWO wonderful white miniature schnauzers Emma & Dash. Here are some adorable pictures of them both as puppies.

Emma

This girl picked me out 2.5.11 ❤

Dash

Went to “look” at this cutie on 2.14.15 and of course ended up taking him home with us! ❤

These two are always up for a road trip or adventure with us and LOVE us unconditionally. I can’t even imagine life without either of them. They are not only best buddies, but they are also a huge part of our family. We love them dearly!

Look at those serious faces!

Companionship is probably one of the best things about having dogs. I feel so close to each of my pups and I knew we all need each other in some way. There’s also nothing better than coming home to their smiling faces! They are so precious and fill up my heart and life.

A few years ago I shared that our pups are pure bread mini schnauzers and actually share the same dad. Read all about our sweet pups here. Don’t forget to check out Skansen Kennel in Sebastopol and read about mini schnauzers here.

Here are a few of my favorite quotes about dogs to round up this long post about how much I love my schnauzies.

“Everything I know I learned from dogs.” – Nora Roberts

“When the Man waked up he said, ‘What is Wild Dog doing here?’ And the Woman said, ‘His name is not Wild Dog any more, but the First Friend, because he will be our friend for always and always and always.’” — Rudyard Kipling

“Dogs don’t rationalize. They don’t hold anything against a person. They don’t see the outside of a human but the inside of a human.” Cesar Millan

“It is amazing how much love and laughter they bring into our lives and even how much closer we become with each other because of them.” — John Grogan

“Dogs are not our whole life, but they make our lives whole.” — Roger Caras

“Happiness is a warm puppy.” — Charles M. Schulz

“A dog is the only thing on earth that loves you more than he loves himself.”– Josh Billings

Awwwww. Dogs are so wonderful! ❤️ 🐾❤️🐾❤️22539684_10106013865322517_4893829944599991828_n

Emma’s Adoptaversary 🐾💕

On this day in 2011 we picked out Miss Emma! Well…she actually PICKED ME. Can’t believe it’s been seven years since this pup came home with us. I honestly can’t remember life without her; she’s just precious. I’m not sure I’ve ever blogged about how we came to get Emma, so here you go.

The weekend before 2.5.11 I went to the Dog Show at the Cow Palace with my parents. We used to go often as kids and always loved looking at all the dogs, especially the giant schnauzers. That year I was actually on the hunt to find a westie, but after seeing them at the show, I wasn’t all that impressed. We of course staked out the schnauzers from Skansen’s and discovered they had white mini’s. I instantly fell in love with one of them and seriously wanted to take her home with me. The owner of the pup said “you can’t have her, but you can have her sister.” So of course the following weekend my parents and I drove all the way up to Sebastopol to “look” at this sister pup. One thing to keep in mind is that if you ever go to Skasen’s you are going to leave with a dog. No.Matter.What. And that’s pretty much what happened. I met both pups, but one of them pretty much took off running and we never saw her again. That girl was WILD. The other sweet girl stuck around and seemed to be pretty smitten with me. That was our girl Emma. She PICKED ME and the rest was history!

Here are a few pictures when we first met Emma and her wild sister.

Both of our pups are from Skansen Kennel in Sebastopol. If your looking for any size of schnauzer, Skansen’s is the place to go! they also have llama’s in case you need one of those. 😉

Here are few pictures from her first car ride leaving the ranch, meeting Cosmo (my childhood schnauzer — P.S. he LOVED Emma <3) and then a few with proud Mom and Dad!

Emma has filled a huge part of my heart that I didn’t even know was missing something. She has been with me through so much (personally) and has always made our family feel so special. Chris always jokes that I love Emma more than him [not true…exactly 😉 ], but I certainly feel a very special connection with her. Emma is the sweetest pup with the best personality ever. At times she super mellow, but is always up for an adventure. She loves walks along the beach or in the forest/mountains, napping on and off throughout the day, treats of all kinds, snuggling with her brother and fellow humans and always knows how to make you feel LOVED.

2.5.11 will always hold a special place in our heart.

We LOVE you EMMA! ❤ ❤ ❤

Last year I shared that our pups are pure bread mini schnauzers and actually share the same dad. We always get asked if they are siblings and technically they are (partially haha). Emma & Dash came from Skansen Kennel in Sebastopol. You can read about when we got Dash two years ago here. If you want to read/learn more about mini schnauzers you can read about how awesome they are here.

Here are a few of my favorite quotes about dogs to round up this long post about how much I love my schnauzies.

“Dogs are our link to paradise. They don’t know evil or jealousy or discontent. To sit with a dog on a hillside on a glorious afternoon is to be back in Eden, where doing nothing was not boring–it was peace.” — Milan Kundera

Today is National Puppy Day!!! Woof Woof! ❤️ 🐾❤️🐾❤️

Owning a dog (two for me) is seriously one of the best things ever! My life feels so much more full and complete with my pups by my side. They are always up for a road trip or adventure with us and no matter what LOVE us unconditionally.

As many of you may know, I’m the proud owner of two wonderful white mini schnauzers Emma & Dash. When I look back at when I first got Emma in 2011 I can’t even imagine that at one point I had no dogs. Now I have two and wouldn’t trade that for anything in the world!

Top Left: Puppy Dash at 13 weeks old            Top Right: Emma pup at about 8-9 months old

Dash is almost 1.5 and our girl Emma will be 6 in April.

One of the things I love most about having dogs is the companionship. I feel so close to each of my pups and love them dearly. Don’t get me wrong sometimes they get in moods and drive us bonkers, but at the end of the day I always have their smiling faces waiting for me when I come home (along with my hubby 😉 ). I really believe that there is a bond between a human and their dog. I experienced that first hand with Emma and now I have that with Dash. These two seriously make my heart swell with love. They are so precious and mean the world to me!

Our pups are pure bread mini schnauzers and actually share the same dad. How funny is that?! We got them both from Skansen Kennel in Sebastopol. You can read about when we got Dash here. If you want to read/learn more about mini schnauzers you can read about how awesome they are here.

Since it’s national puppy day I thought it would only be fitting to share some of my favorite quotes about dogs to round up this long post about how much I love my dogs.

“A dog is the only thing on earth that loves you more than he loves himself.”
Josh Billings

“Dogs are not our whole life, but they make our lives whole.”
Roger Caras

“The world would be a nicer place if everyone had the ability to love as unconditionally as a dog.”
M.K. Clinton

Awwwww am I right folks? Dogs are so wonderful! ❤️ 🐾❤️🐾❤️  I mean look at these two!
